Sugar

Sold under the Itajá brand, white sugar produced by Jalles Machado is constantly improving and meets international quality standards. The entire production process, from sugarcane planting to packaging, is monitored by highly trained and qualified professionals.

In line with the pursuit of continuous margin improvement, Jalles Machado also produces organic sugar, a high value-added product.

A great differential of the Group, organic sugar imposes several barriers to entry of new competitors, requiring extensive technical knowledge, from soil preparation to marketing.

Produced according to the natural eating philosophy, Itajá organic sugar follows strict international quality certification standards, from planting to the final product.

Catering mostly to the export market, Itajá organic sugar conquered the international market; it is certified by the Biodynamic Institute (Instituto Biodinâmico – IBD), which values production combined with environmental preservation and social responsibility.

Finally, the Company also produces VHP (Very High Polarization) sugar, which is exported to countries such as the United States, Canada, Russia, UAE, Nigeria, Indonesia, Bangladesh and India.

Ethanol

The production of ethanol fuel, a renewable energy source that does not pollute the environment, is divided into anhydrous ethanol, which is blended into gasoline, and hydrated ethanol, which can be directly used in flex-fuel or ethanol engines.

The Group also produces organic ethanol, a high value-added product that is used in the pharmaceutical, ethanol chemical, beverage, cosmetics and food industries.

Cogeneration

The Company generates its own energy. Using sugarcane bagasse as a source of thermal, mechanical and electric energy, the industry launched a pioneering cogeneration project in the state of Goiás.

Together, the two units have an installed generation capacity of 142 MW, enough to supply a city of approximately 300,000 inhabitants.

With the replacement of fossil fuels with clean energy, generated from biomass, the Company also sells carbon credits, thanks to the reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.

Jalles Machado is a partner of Albioma Participações do Brasil in the two cogeneration plants, Albioma Esplanada and Albioma Codora, with an interest of 40% and 35% in each of the companies, respectively.

Cleaning products

The line of cleaning products was designed to add value to ethanol produced by Jalles Machado. These products are divided into household cleaning products and professional cleaning products, ranging from alcohol-based liquid and gel to hospital disinfectants.

Yeast

In order to reuse the excess raw material from alcohol fermentation, Jalles Machado started producing dry yeast in May 2009. The facility is designed to produce common dry yeast and autolysate products, and it is structured in line with the highest quality standards required by the most demanding markets. It has an installed production capacity of 22 metric tons/day.

Due to its high protein content, high concentration of vitamin B complex and excellent balance of amino acids, dry yeast is marketed as a nutritional supplement in animal feed formulation.

Latex

In line with Jalles Machado’s ongoing engagement in the development of the community where it operates, the shareholders saw in latex production the possibility of employing workers made redundant by the evolution of mechanized harvesting, in addition to the financial potential.

Goiás Latex started regular operations in June 2011, and it currently has approximately 100,000 rubber trees already in the tapping stage in the region of Goianésia.
