Executive Board

The Executive Board is responsible for the preparation of plans and projects and operational and financial performance of Jalles Machado, added to the execution of the strategies defined by the Board of Directors.

Otávio Lage de Siqueira Filho

/ President

Formed in Civil Engineering at the Federal University of Minas Gerais and in Business Administration at the Centro de Ensino Unificado of Brasília, Otávio Lage de Siqueira Filho participated in the entire process of the foundation of Jalles Machado. He has been President of the company since its creation, absent from the presidency from July 2000 to December 2008 to act as Mayor of Goianésia – GO. He is also a reference for the Integrated Management Policy that he implemented in Jalles Machado, leading the company to stand out in the sucroenergetic sector and achieve international recognition. He was president of the Deliberative Council of the State of Goiás Sugar Industry (Sifaeg) from 2014 to 2017, member of the Board of Directors of Abrinq Foundation (August 2010 to July 2019), member of the Board of Directors of Centro de Tecnologia Canavieira – CTC (November 2012 to July 2021); president of the Board of Directors of the Goiás Industrial Development Association – Adial Goiás (March 2017 to November 2021). He is Director of the Federation of Industries of Goiás (Fieg).

Rodrigo Penna de Siqueira

/ Financial Director

Engineer in Civil Engineering from Poli/USP, with post-graduation in Derivatives (FEA/USP) and Management and Finance (FIA/USP); worked in the Treasury of Banco CCF Brasil S.A. and the consulting and management company Booz Allen Hamilton Inc.; was a member of ABIEC (Brazilian Association of Exporting Meat Industries), President of the Agriculatural Business Council of FIEG (Federation of Industries of Goiás), Vice-President of Assocon (National Association of Confiners), Vice-President of Finance of ADIAL (Association for the Development of Goiás), Consultant of Phibro Animal Health Corporation, multinational American in the area of animal nutrition. Since 2001 he has been in the Otávio Lage Group, with the following trajectory: was Superintendent Director of Goiás Carne S.A., sold in 2007 to Independência Alimentos S.A.; and currently is Executive Director of Vera Cruz Agropecuária Ltda, Planagri S.A. and Financial Director of Jalles Machado S.A.. He also acts as President of the Board of Directors of Coopercred – Cooperative Credit of Vale São Patrício and Deliberative Council Member of APROB-GO/TO (Association of Producers of Natural Rubber of Goiás and Tocantins).

Henrique Penna de Siqueira

/ Commercial Director

Graduated in Production Engineering at UFSCAR (Federal University of São Carlos), with MBA Full-time at Fuqua School of Business (Duke University), occupies the position of Commercial Director since 2013. He was Operations Director at Jalles Machado between 2006 and 2011, worked 3 years at Itaú Bank having passed through the Trainee program and also worked for the North American consulting company AT Kearney. He was a member of the Board of Directors of CTC between 2009 and 2010.

Joel Soares Alves da Silva

/ Operations Director

Executive with more than 30 years of experience in the Sucroenergetic sector, Joel Soares has a Specialization in Financial Management at FGV, MBA in Strategic Management of Agribusiness at FGV, with international module at the University of California, MBA in Project Management at FGV is a Certified Public Accountant and Business Administrator at Unitoledo (SP). He held positions of General Manager and Regional Director at João Lyra Group (AL/MG), Executive Director and CEO at Unialco (SP). He is Operations Director of Jalles Machado since July 2011.

It is the responsibility of the Board of Directors of Jalles to define the Company's general policies and guidelines, evaluate plans and projects proposed by the Executive Board, as well as the results of each period.

Oscar Bernardes

/ Chairman and Independent Member

Graduated in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Mr. Bernardes served as CEO of Bunge International (from 1996 to 1999), before joining the Bunge Group, he was a Senior Partner at Booz-Allen & Hamilton. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of Alpargatas S.A., Delphi Corporation (United States) and Johnson Electric. He is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Localiza Rent a Car S.A., serves as: Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors and Member of the Strategy Committees of Marcopolo S.A,; Member of the Advisory Board of the company Davos; Member of the Board of Directors and Audit Committee of Cia Suzano Papel e Celulose; Member of the Compensation and People Development Committees and Finance Committee of Praxair Inc. (United States); Senior Consultant to the CEO of Johnson Electric Holdings Limited; Member of the Board of Directors of VPar – Votorantim Participações; Member of the Advisory Board of Amyris (United States); Member of the OMNI Board of Directors; Vice-Chairman of the Board and Coordinator of the DASA Human Resources Committee; Chairman of the Strategy Committee of Vanguarda S.A .; Member of the Board of Directors of Gerdau S.A. and Metalúrgica Gerdau.

Plinio Nastari

/ External Advisor

Graduated in Business Administration, he holds an M.Sc. and a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from Iowa State University. He was an Economics professor at FGV – Fundação Getulio Vargas in São Paulo for 22 years, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses (MBA, master's, and doctorate). With extensive experience in negotiations and trade disputes at the ITC (International Trade Commission) and the World Trade Organization, Dr. Nastari served the Brazilian government as Chief Economist in trade disputes involving ethanol exports to the United States, subsidized sugar exports from the European Union, the common banana import regime in the European Union, and the Brazilian regime for the import of used and retreaded tires. Dr. Nastari is a member of the World Sugar Committee at ICE Futures (Intercontinental Exchange) in New York, where recommendations are made for improvements in contract rules and other matters related to the global sugar trade. Plínio Mario Nastari is an external advisor to the Company, with no current commercial, employment, or managerial ties to the organization; however, he is not an independent director.

Otávio Lage de Siqueira Filho

/ Member

Graduated in Civil Engineering and Business Administration, he served as CEO of Jalles Machado from 1981 to 2000 and has held the position since 2009. He was mayor of Goianésia for two consecutive terms, from 2001 to 2008. He was president of the Deliberative Council of the Ethanol Manufacturing Industry Union of the State of Goiás (Sifaeg) from 2014 to 2017; served as a Board Member of the Abrinq Foundation; and is a member of the Deliberative Council of both the Ethanol Manufacturing Industry Union of the State of Goiás (Sifaeg) and the Sugar Manufacturing Industry Union of the State of Goiás (Sifaçúcar). He is also a member of the Fiscal Council of the Federation of Industries of the State of Goiás (Fieg) and a member of the Board of Directors of the Sugarcane Technology Center (CTC), as well as a member of the Board of Directors of the Association for Industrial Development of the State of Goiás (Adial).

Silvia Regina de Siqueira

/ Member

Graduated in Psychology from the Catholic University of Goiás, she is the Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Otávio Lage Group; a member of the Board of Directors of Jalles Machado S/A; and a member of the Deliberative Council of the Jalles Machado Foundation. She is a co-owner of LS Agropecuária. She worked as a Psychologist at Clínica Santa Mônica in Goiânia – GO. She served as President of the Alphaville Association from 2014 to 2015, was a member of its Deliberative Council from 2016 to 2018, and served as Finance Director from 2018 to 2019. She was a partner at the Centro de Psicologia da Pessoa from 1981 to 1989.

Clovis Ferreira de Moraes

/ Member

Civil Engineer, graduated from the Polytechnic School of the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro – PUC in 1961, where he also took courses in Production Engineering. While a university student, he interned at Companhia Esso de Petróleo do Brasil S/A. He worked as a civil engineer at Construtora Chicago Bright S/A on the construction and installation of the Mannesmann Steelmaking Auto Furnace in Belo Horizonte from 1961 to 1962. He was an engineer at Construtora Concisa S/A in São Paulo from 1963 to 1967. Since 1967, he has been a partner, founder, and lead engineer of Construtora Morais Ferrari Ltda. He has been an entrepreneur in the real estate development, sugar-energy, and agricultural sectors since the 1970s. He collaborated with a team of professors from Mackenzie University in São Paulo to establish the Faculty of Engineering of Barretos – FEB, now the University of Barretos. He has been a founding partner and director of Jalles Machado S/A since its inception. He has been involved with the Otávio Lage Group from the beginning in the sugar-energy sector. He introduced the first irrigation experiment for sugarcane cultivation in the Goianésia region, GO. He implemented the technique of irrigation control using Water Tensiometry in rubber tree cultivation, which is now also used in sugarcane farming.

Gibrail Kinjo Esber Brahim Filho

/ Member

Completed high school; has served as Executive Director of Gissara Agropecuária Ltda for 30 years, is a board member and Vice President of Coopercred – Credit Cooperative of Vale São Patrício, and an active board member of Jalles Machado S/A.
